With these designs, Cuatro Cuatros seeks the contrast of languages between the material, 100% natural linen, and geometry, less explored in this type of fabric for curtains. As a result of experimentation with weaving, two repetition patterns are born that represent the balance between the organic and the geometric.
The combination of geometry and a natural fiber such as linen represent an ingenious innovation in this delicate linen fabric project by Equipo DRT; tradition meets current aesthetics, the geometric pattern and the beauty, subtlety and warmth of linen.
Geometrizing a natural fiber has been one more step in the commitment to textile design and the author's work of Equipo DRT, which has given life to these three 100% linen curtain fabrics, ready to decorate the most innovative interiors.
It is an exercise that was already carried out by the proto-rationalist designers of the last stage of Art Nouveau (early 20th century), who preserved the decorative motifs while undergoing a process of geometrization, under Japanese architectural inspiration. It is this balance between decorative element and schematization carried out by the designers who promoted rationalism that has served as inspiration for Cuatro Cuatros to develop the "Damero" collection.
Damero, linen fabric for curtains
The Cuatro Cuatros studio has managed to turn the geometry of the square into a delicate textile proposal thanks to the work with a noble and ductile fabric such as linen. The result is the Damero design, a checked linen curtain fabric, with squares of 3,75 cm each side, inspired by the trend of the proto-rationalists, who seek to contrast the hardness of geometry with the organic of linen.
Gambito, linen fabric for curtains
Gambito is the larged-scale version of the design Damero, based on the idea of a checkered linen fabric with a marked repetition of geometry without losing the language and colour of linen. The result is the design Gambito, a checkered linen curtain fabric, with squares of 7,5 cm. each side. In both Gambito and Damero, the design discourse has been based on the repetition of elements.
Pomar, linen fabric for curtains
Pomar is a linen fabric for curtains, designed by the Cuatro Cuatros studio, in which the stripes become blurred, less straight, more organic, as if it were a plowed field, to convey the naturalness of linen through the weaving. The source of inspiration for this design has been the work of the outstanding Art Nouveau artists 'The four of Glasgow'.
Geometrizing a natural fiber has been one more step in the commitment to textile design and the author's work of Equipo DRT, which has given life to these three 100% linen curtain fabrics, ready to decorate the most innovative interiors available from this month of February.
